Jerzy Wójcik was born in Oświęcim. He graduated in International Relations as well as Middle and Far Eastern Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. In 2010, he obtained a PhD in Political Science. He was a recipient of the Florentyna Kogutowska Fund scholarship at the Jagiellonian University and a visiting research fellow at Tel Aviv University.

For many years, he has cooperated with various organizations and institutions in Poland, including the Center for Holocaust Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, the Center for International Relations in Warsaw, and the European Association for Israel Studies. Since 2015, he has headed the Holocaust Memorial Partnership organization. He has visited Israel more than 25 times.
